(wfh): This cute “working from home” visual isn’t really date-related, except insofar as it can help explain why you’re available to be using smoking and mooning (virtually, at least) with your lover during the day. Don’t tell me you never did this out the back of the school bus window, or at least at your siblings. (mooning): Surely this one is self-explanatory. Or maybe when you want to tell your long distance love that you think they’re blowing smoke up your ass. Perhaps useful for those times when you’ve made weighty statements about global politics or the state of the world’s polar ice caps and you want to take a moment to let your brilliant gravitas settle in. (smoke): This paints a picture of someone contemplatively puffing on a cigar. Perfect for that moment when you say or do something really embarrassing in public (not that I’d know, ‘cuz I never do that. (rock): In a change of mood, here is a California-surfer-esque way to tell your loved one that they “totally rock”. (talktothehand): If you’re opposed to violence, even the emoticon type, you could always try virtual stonewalling with this “talk to the hand” icon. (punch): This pugnacious icon can allow you to express frustration without actually resorting to violence. This got used a lot between weeks 34 and 40 of my last pregnancy. (bug): This shows a small black bug lying on its back with its legs waving helplessly in the air. (drunk): Drunk-dialing (or skyping as the case my be)? This tipsy, bubble-blowing little yellow guy can help you get your post across without also looking like a sweaty, flushed mess. Another good one to express how my beloved firstborn can make me feel at times.

It is a great illustration of how I feel on those days when I’ve been single parenting a toddler all day long. It shows a little growly face repeatedly banging its head against a brick wall.
